Hello Cotford St Luke!

For today’s litter pick, we went up to Cotford St Luke – sometimes the hardest part of a pick is deciding where to, that’s why I often leave it to Dad!

It was a nice morning, lovely blue skies and nice and wam in the sun. My brother had a sleepover party last night and 7 12 year olds in our lounge meant the rest of us were all quite tired! On the plus side though Mum and Dad did provide lots of fresh pancakes for breakfast – some of which I grabbed.

We drove to Cotford and parked up on the main road into Cotford.

Cotford seems like a nice place – the houses are varied in style and there are lots of trees and bushes – the big trees, bushes and hedges around the area though seem to be a magnet for rubbish. Pretty much all the way along we found cans and big crisp bags and sweet wrappers. We found lots of big grab bags of crisps – I think Cotford people might need to moderate their crisp intake.

Dad had to climb into a particularly thorny bush to get a football!

Our loop took us around the Chapel and we found a lot of cans behind one of their walls - we did even have to venture into their Beer Garden to pick up a stray cider can. Our best find was a sealed kinder egg surprise – with an Avatar character in which I have made!

We couldn’t decide if the rubbish near the Chapel was as a result of the Chapel itself or the Co-Op just up the road.

I found a nice yellow and black arrow sign under one hedge which I am going to clean up and put in my room.

I had to get a can out from a hole in the wall of the garden of the chapel - it was a bit like the Sword in the Stone - not many people could have got it out - but I persevered!

We didn’t go particularly far but did find quite a lot of rubbish – we were out for about 1 hour and 10 minutes todays stats are:

Distance: 2.14km

Recycling:2.7kg

Rubbish:3.8kg
