Rebuilding a bridge

It’s half term this week and Dad has some day’s off so we thought we would go on a Monday this week. We went to drop my brother off at cricket before our walk – which was a mistake because it isn’t on until tomorrow!
Having dropped him back home we headed back into the centre of Taunton. We weren’t sure where to go today but opted to park next to the swimming pool and walk out towards Staplegrove – along Chip Lane.
Before I go on - if you want to sponsor me you can do so here: https://gofund.me/78d66343

We took our camping trolley today – on past walks we have collected so much that it has got a little tricky to carry it all. We thought the trolley would make it easier – which it did but it was a little noisy.

We walked for a little bit over 2 hours covering 3.45KM.
There was a lot of broken glass in the first bit of chip lane – a bit fiddly/time consuming to pick up – but a lot of cyclists use that lane so picking it up will hopefully reduce the number of punctures people get.
When we got to the sorting office we crossed over the railway bridge and on up to the Greenway Park.
There was lots of rubbish either side of the up-ramp but in fenced off areas which we couldn’t get to or weren’t sure we should go into.
On the other side of the bridge there was lots of rubbish underneath the ramp - but this area was a little more accessible in that I only had to climb a fence and drop down a small wall to get to it - so I did collect from here. We also found rubbish buried deep in the hedges all the way along the ramp down.
After the bridge we then went up the path to Cyril Street and into Greenway Park. At the top of the park we found a bit of grating that we recognised had come from the bridge. It's not litter and wont count against our weights but we figured we should probably take it back.
Today there was a lot of broken glass, cigarette butts and bottle tops as well as the usual plastic and can drinks containers - but much less in the way of whole glass bottles – I think only 2 which has had an impact on our weight collected. We got 3.47KG of rubbish and .41kg of recycling.
I’ve redesigned my signs a little as well. I think they were a little bit wordy before – I haven’t taken too many words off but hopefully they look better and are a bit clearer.
